I LOVE this pan!
In a word, this paella pan is FANTASTIC! It's hard to beat the surface area this pan has for range top or oven cooking. If you have a high output range the entire surface becomes an active, even cooking surface, great for searing large amounts of foods at once. The grenadine is beautiful and looks great on the table, too. The cast iron holds heat really well, keeping foods warm at the table. I'm really happy to finally own this pan. The down side is if your range doesn't have high BTU burners the cooking area in the pan seems to be reduced somewhat to the center of the pan. I gave one as a gift and the recipient loved it, but hasn't enjoyed the same range top cooking surface that I have.

This is for small family get-togethers. Perfect to feed 8-10 people entrees, 15+ for a side dish. The quality of the cast iron makes this perfect for almost all cooking styles - searing, pan-frying, deep frying, stews and curries, pasta bakes, rice courses -think paella, jambalaya, biryani. Cooks evenly and holds the heat nicely. The enamel coating, inside and out, makes for easy maintenance and cleaning. The handles on either side make this easier to move around and bring to the table.

Get this pan
Oh my God! This is awesome! It is large enough to cook for a large family. I love that I use little or no oil and that heat is distributed well. The food always comes out good. It also helps that I don’t need to use multiple pans when cooking several dishes. I also find it easier to move the pan or store it due to the short double handles. I can guarantee that you’ll love to cook with this pan.

Haven't made Paella yet but it's on my list! This beautiful blue pan is exactly what I've needed for so many other things. I love the large flat surface, great for frying or browning, the high sides make it so useful for sauteing or baking and the open area makes it great for roasting or using as a plancha on the grill. This pan does it all and in the enameled cast iron, it is easy to care for, solid enough to use all the time and the handles, really make it an easy lift no matter the contents!

It’s gigantic!
Huge pan! But incredible heat distribution. Heavy but not ridiculous. However it does take up most of the cooktop...but that should be expected. Color is stunning.

Can you tell me the INSIDE BOTTOM diameter of the 15" paella pan? actual cooking surface. also is there a cast iron lid to fit it? Desperately trying to replace a warped Magnalite paella pan...
Lodge makes a tempered glass lid that fits the Lodge 15 inch skillet (L14SK3). I use this lid on my Staub 15" Paella Pan (which I love). It won't fit over the edge, but rests inside the pan at sufficient height for most foods I cook on the stovetop. Only good to 400 degrees, whereas Staub pan is good to 500. I was very happy to find this as I was disappointed Staub didn't make one. The lid was the only one my hardware store had ($24).
