Staub Cast Iron 13" Double Handle Fry Pan - Visual Imperfections - Graphite Grey is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be happier with this purchase! Just received this pan and it took me 20 minutes (no kidding) to see a small glazed over chip under one of the handles. The price was $119.99, so I'm thinking the higher the price the smaller the imperfection? I'm not disappointed at all and thrilled to have gotten it at that price. I have the Staub 12" skillet and it's great for when it's just my husband and I, but wanted something a little bigger for company or when cooking Sunday Fried Chicken, Cajun Rice or Paella which need more surface area and this is the perfect size at 12.33" across the bottom of the pan. The straight sides are great too, less spatter. I saw Staub cookware in a kitchen store here in town and at priced at full retail. I was very impressed by the quality, especially the smoothness of the enamel. My range has a ceramic cook top, so I have to be very careful what I put on it to avoid scratches. But, I thought I would shop around or wait for a sale before buying a cast iron skillet to replace the Lodge skillet that I have missed so much and can't use on the ceramic top. I fell in love with the Grenadine color, a beautiful deep, dark, glossy red and bought the 12" Frypan and the Universal Pan during an online summer sale. After using them both for the last month I have fallen in love with Staub. I have a Le Creuset round dutch oven and I think Staub's black interior browns better and more evenly. Couldn't be happier with this purchase and will always check the clearance page first when looking for anything Staub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won't ever need to crowd your pan again I love the large size. I don't have a burner this large (who does?), but as long as I give the pan enough time to heat up and use a lower heat setting, the temperature seems to equalize across the bottom of the pan. Not completely, but good enough for me. It's just a guess, but I think the degree of imperfection influences the price. I got this pan for a steal and the glaze on the bottom is kind of a mess, but I couldn't care less. Just thrilled to get such amazing cookware at a price I can afford. This is my fifth piece of Staub cast iron cookware and I love them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is a beast! I've used it for making pizza. I've used it to make burgers on an outdoor grill. The higher walls are nice. Eventually I'll use it to actually make paella lol.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value I paid $139.99 for this pan and consider it good value as I have not been able to detect whatever imperfection caused it to be discounted. I wish it had a cover, and if it did I might use it more often. It does a nice job of shallow frying and stays nice and hot and browns food well even if I put a little more in the pan than I should.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great cast iron pan I bought this pan at a steep discount and it does have some imperfections on it. Hence the price. It has been a terrific pan. Staub enamel is bullet proof. Very durable inside and out. My only complaint is that it's a slightly strange diameter. Maybe because it's metric. I bought a 13" Pyrex lid separately for it but the edge of the pan is a little bigger than 13" and the lid is a strange fit. The edge of the pan is a little bigger than 13" and the lid sort of fits inside. I just think they should make the pans to standard sizes to avoid this. At least give accurate metric/ standard dimensions of the outer and inner edge when buying them. Otherwise staub makes le Creuset seem cheap. No, they don't have all the colors but it's very well made. Maybe Staub will make lots of different colors as well but I'm fine with basic grey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a great fry pan...nice and roomy!! This extra large fry pan is perfect for frying a large quanity of food. Sits flat on my gas burner and stays put. Its a heavy pan. Purchased from Staub directly as a factory second but could really see anything wrong. It had no chips or scratches. Thr only thing I saw was a very very small bump in the centre of the pan when casted. The enamel wad perfect. All in all a terrific fry pan at substantial savings!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible pan that’s extremely functional I bought a number of pans during the factory second sale and this one has been in use nearly every night - to my surprise. The 13 inch size allows for a ton of surface area to work with. It’s been great for one pan desserts, pork chops, veggies, roasts and anything that needs a good sear or a cook in the oven. The pan is super easy to handle, and albeit a bit heavy, the trade off is worthwhile for its usability. The beautiful graphite color matches all of my pans in the set and the visual imperfections are virtually unnoticeable. Minor pitting and a minor dimple, nothing that’s easy to see even after studying the pan for a bit and certainly nothing that affects the performance. Staub’s incredible black matte interior enamel is far superior to any other cast iron I’ve used, including Le Creuset. Creates even heat and makes it easy to clean. Very happy with this purchase!

I would like to order this pan, however, I don't see an option for enamel color. Will I receive the Grenadine as shown? Thank you!

Asked by: Maa2maa
If no color options are available, the color shown is the only one available for sale. In this case, the grenadine is the only available color at the clearance price.

Does the 13" diameter include the handles or not?

Asked by: Charliegirl
13" is the diameter from rim to rim, it does not include the handles.

What are the true measurements of this pan? Is the 13 from handle to handle edge? Thanks

Asked by: tomas
These measurements are inside the rim of the pan...13" across the top and 12" across the bottom. From the outer edge of each handle it is 16 3/8"s. The inside depth is 2 1/4". These are wonderful pans, nearly non-stick and so easy to clean. I always wipe it with a little vegetable oil (quickly invert the bottle on a folded napkin once or twice) and let it warm up on medium low till you can smell it and you are ready to cook. No need to use more than medium heat for most dishes. To clean let the pan cool, cover the bottom with water and let it sit for 10 or 20 minutes, scrape the food off with a plastic scraper and wash. Use a tiny bit of Barkeepers Friend cleanser to remove food shadows and it will stay looking like new. If you have an enameled pan DO NOT use the cleanser on the outer enamel or it will loose some of its gloss. Hope this helps.
