Rated 5 out of 5 by from Japanese Sharpness, German Design You get the best of both worlds with these knives. They're made in Japan and have that incredibly sharp blade, key to paper thin slices of meat. The blades are constructed from high carbon German steel that is very durable and corrosion resistant. The handles have the great curves and three rivets that have made the German knives a favorite for hundreds of years. You will be amazed at how cleanly sliced steak tastes even better than when you use a serrated knife. Slicing instead of tearing means less flavor and juice loss. There is also far less effort when compared to a serrated knife as there's no need to saw back and forth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great steak knives This is a great Japanese-German steak knife set. I really like the feel of the handle on these blades, it’s very comfortable and contours nicely. The blades have a nice lighter weight to them. This is a great intro knife collection if you want to go from Western style knives to Asian; the Morimoto collection merges the two styles together, with having a durable German steel but styled as a thin and sharp Asian blade. A great steak knife set, perfect for slicing steaks and meats easily without tearing. They also come in a wooden presentation box, for easy and safe storage. A great gift set too!

The authentic Japanese blade with an impressive 9.5 to 12 degree edge is adorned with a more familiar feeling western handle. The specially formulated steel is corrosion and chip resistant and these steak knives have a fine edge that can be sharpened when necessary unlike serrated edge steak knives. You will be looking for reasons to serve steak as much as possible once you have these!

The combo of high-carbon German stainless steel along with a thin Japanese blade handcrafted in Seki, Japan, will amaze you by how they glide through meats and how thin the slices can be! They come in a wooden presentation box for storage and to keep them safe. Ice-hardened so you can feel their sharpness and durability and know they will not chip or rust. A very special set indeed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These steak knives glide through any thing with ease. I purchased them for Christmas dinner which includes prime rib. Although made with German Special Formula Steel, they are a true Japanese knife in style. Each knife is forged from one piece of steel making them extremely strong. Also ice hardened so the edge will stay sharper longer. My favorite part of the knife is the 3 riveted handle, extremely comfortable.

But the sharpness of the edge and the lighweightness tell you it's a Japanese knife. An amazing combination of both worlds. Slices through dinner. No ripping or tearing. And when you are finished a storage case to keep them sharp and safe til next time.

They are made from super hard steel that is twice hardened to allow them to be ultra thin yet durable. The slim blade profile and acute angle give accurate thinslices. The Western style handle is very comfortable to hold and feels nice in my hand.

A symmetrical contoured handle enables you to effortlessly glide the blade through meat without tearing. Knives store safely in accompanying box, when not enhancing your dining experience.
