Miyabi Birchwood SG2 5-inch Utility Knife is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Valuable Addition This utility knife is a great addition to any home. Its shorter blade length makes it extremely versatile. Many people end up preferring it over the traditional chef knife. The birchwood handle is so unique. It is very comfortable with its traditional Asian D shape plus the birchwood material makes it very slip resistant. I love how the handle will become very personal as it absorbs oils from your hands and develops its own personality. The 100 layer damascus blade is made from a very sharp SG2 steel core that not only makes it very durable but incredibly beautiful. If you want an authentic Japanese knife, end your search with Miyabi. They are made and sold in Japan as the premium knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Miyabi Birchwood line is one of my favorite and the utility knife is one of my most used knives in the kitchen. It is super sharp so can slice, dice, and chop with percision and it feels comfortable in my hand while using, which is very important. This knife is made of a super steel, SG2 and has gone through a special ice-hardening process. These processes are to create a durable and super sharp knife that stays sharp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievably Sharp This gorgeous knife is just the right size when you have several cutting tasks. You can go from paring to cutting and slicing without switching your knife. The SG2 steel core is incredibly hard so it will retain it's edge use after use. The Birchwood handles may take some extra care but once you've felt how comfortable and seen how beautiful they are it will be a joy to take care of this knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Birchwood is one of my favorite Miyabi lines. I love the looks and the durablity, not to mention how sharp this knife is. SG2 super steel and a proprietary ice-hardening process make this a sharp and durable knife. The flower damascus design is very beautiful and I love to keep this knife on my magnetic bar so everyone can enjoy its beauty, but don't touch, for me only! Sorry, not sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnificent Miyabi! The impressive shape and design of Miyabi is what makes this utility knife a dream to use. The blade is sharp, durable and beautiful. The handle is equally splendid and very comfortable to hold. This knife I use for longer vegetable such as eggplant, zucchini and cucumbers. However, the uses for this knife are limitless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Utility knife This is a beautiful knife and definitely an utility knife to splurge on. With 101 layers of steel and additional ice hardening, the blade on this knife slices, peels like no other utility/paring knife. The Birchwood handle fits nicely in hand, and it’s the perfect little knife that you need in your kitchen.
