Additional Information

MIYABI celebrates Japanese craftsmanship with Artisan. Using traditional methods and innovative techniques, these knives merge the past and present into an exceptional knife collection.

The potent core of SG2 micro-carbide powder steel is layered in a Tsuchime finish. This exquisite, hand-hammered effect helps prevent food from sticking. Each knife features a hand-honed blade finished with a true katana edge, a homage to the samurai swords made in Seki centuries ago.

Fabricated with special Cocobolo Rosewood pakkawood, the handles mirror the beauty of the blade. Sophisticated details include brass and red spacers, a mosaic pin and a stainless steel end cap. The attractive D-shaped handle is designed to nestle comfortably in your hand for tireless cutting. Handcrafted in Seki, Japan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An amazing Japanese knife This knife is awesome. I love the look of this knife and how it has certain features that make it a true Japanese knife, like the mirrored finish aspect to the blade and the shape of the handle. I like that it’s a Cocobolo wood, really beautiful look that accents the blade perfectly. This knife cuts through anything with ease and smoothness, clean cuts every time. It has a nice balance to it as well, and contours nicely in your hand. The steel is really solid for a Japanese knife, so I’m not worried about the blade chipping down the road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Daily Go to Knife! This is my absolute favorite knife. The core of the blade is made with a high end SG2 steal that creates the sharpest knife around. It slices and chops with ease. The handle is a perfect fit for my hand and it holds it edge for a long time between sharpening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is one of my favorite Miyabi knives. The Artisan series feels secure and comfortable in the hand, has great balance and is sturdy enough to cut through tough squashes and meats. It's also beautiful to look at and keeps it's edge between sharpenings.

is the knife easily resharpened

Asked by: koja
These knives can be resharpened several ways. First, we recommend using a sharpening/honing steel every few times you use the knife. This does not remove any material and safe to do frequently. When the knives do need resharpening, you can use a series of waterstones, though this takes some practice. We do make a Miyabi pull-through sharpener that is designed specifically for these blades, it is perfect for touch ups. If you do not want to sharpen the blade yourself, we offer a sharpening service.
