Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4" Solutions Fine Edge Paring Knife - Pro Choice I'm collecting individual knives to use for part-time prep cook work. I've known Henckels quality rating for many years. I found this at a Ross store. I like the non-porous handle because it will not catch and hold kitchen oil hand oil, etc, like porous plastic handles. The workmanship is very nice. I would call it of a medium hard stiffness, for straight cuts, not fancies. The stainless steel stamped blade extends the entire length of the knife. The seam where the blade is sandwiched between the handles is perfectly smooth. Would make a nice Christmas gift. I paid $6.99, the regular price seems to be about $11.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dishwasher safe is a bonus This was a recent gift that replaced an old wood-handled paring knife that of course was not dishwasher safe as this one is and was also bulky. Excellent construction from a company known for excellence and a classic finish that is both good-looking and easier to use being slimmer than our prior one. The blade has a fine edge that should keep its sharpness for a long time. Already being used almost daily by me or my spouse and very pleased with it. Being a gift, I don't know the cost paid and having only used it for two weeks cannot state the value of the product or customer support if needed purely on that basis.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Totally Dull After One Month It was sharp for the first two weeks but dull after four weeks of light usage. I did not use it on anything hard, only on soft food - vegetables, pork, beef, and fruits. It was a waste of money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good little paring knife. This is an excellent value. This paring knife is sharp and will easily do all the peeling and coring and cutting tasks you have. The medium size handle is comfortable to grip. The Solution line of knives is a good step up to quality stamped steel cutlery. These knives are made from high quality German steel that will not stain or rust or pit. They are made - from the tip of the blade to the heel of then handle, from a single piece of steel for terrific stability. These knives are lightweight without compromising blade sharpness. Maintained properly, they will last many years.

I knew the brand name so decided to give it a try and was amazed by the quality. It fits my hand perfectly to do the cutting and pairing tasks for which I need it, it is finely engineered and finished (very solid), and is sharp ~ slides through tomato and apple skins to offer a perfect vertical cut with no need for pressure from my hand. I could not be more pleased

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solution knives are a great value priced line of knives that are perfect for a starter kitchen. Stamped from a single sheet of high quality stainless steel they are light weight and corrosion resistant. A full tang of steel running through the handle makes them stable and sturdy. I like the way the handle is high on the bolster because it provides a comfortable area for my pinch grip. The blade feels nice and sharp.
