Love these kitchen scissors
Being able to take the scissors apart is fantastic, especially when using to open packages of chicken...I feel much more confident that I can clean them thoroughly and avoid bacteria from collecting in the mechanism. I'm getting one for each of my two sons' homes!

Exactly as advertised
I needed a new pair of kitchen shears. This scissor met my needs completely and they are washable! The blades come apart for cleaning.

Great all around shears. Very sharp and excellent quality. Take apart feature is very handy and they fit together well with almost zero side to side play. I actually have a set in my garage tool box as well as the kitchen.

Take-apart scissors are the only way to go.
For cleaning purposes alone, these would be my best bet. But! I don't have to compromise quality and sharpness for cleanliness. Made of quality steel, so they stay sharp (keep all sharp items out of dishwasher if you want them to stay sharp) and make nice clean cuts. These are general purpose scissors, not made to cut thick raw meats and vegetables. Great for herbs, lettuces, tomatoes, softer fruit, thinner cooked meats and poultry; softer shellfish. Check out more heavy duty shears for heartier tasks.

Very sharp. Well finished. Come apart easily.
These are very sharp. Despite being able to take them apart, the blades are very close and function precisely. The finishing work is excellent. They feel lovely to hold. One reviewer said her scissors do not come apart. Mine come apart easily. On the side opposite the blue decoration, you can see the slot and the part that goes into the slot. If I hold mine with blue button up, then open blades all the way, they just fall open when the slot aligns with the piece that fits into it.

Rusting at the Hinge
The hinge where the scissors come apart is rusting only after 2 weeks. We take them apart and dry them before putting them away and they're still showing rust. They work well.

I already own the other shears that do not come apart but thought the cleaning would be better with these. We never seem to have enough scissors in my kitchen so I bought 2 pair of these. I use the older ones for paper and these for food. So much easier to clean and know that they are bacteria free. the bottle opener works fine but its not what I like to use my scissors for, if you do then you will be extra happy!

Great Shears
These shears arrived sharp out of the box and excel at all kitchen tasks including snipping twine, cutting herbs, and deboning poultry. The handles are large and easy to grip, a must when dealing with slippery tasks. Also great is the take-apart feature of the shears, which makes them easy to clean and prevents rusting at the pivot. These are excellent shears, and given the price are a no-brainer purchase.

The shears can be taken apart by opening them and then lifting the top blade off.

We do not sharpen shears at this time, only non-serrated knives.

These shears are manufactured in Vietnam. We make our J.A. Henckels International shears in China and Vietnam, depending on the specific model.
We do manufacture some of our ZWILLING shears in Germany and Italy, and our Miyabi shears are made in Japan.
