Entry Level Cutlery
Recently purchased for my new apartment. Just graduated from college and wanted a block because I was tired of using the assorted knives I used while in school.
This block set is perfect. Has everything I need to work in the kitchen.
Love the one piece design, which makes it durable, and gives the knives a really good weight and feel. The knives are forged which are superior to a stamped knife, and help balance the knife and protect my finger from the edge.
Still learning how to properly use the honing steel, but I am glad it was included in the set, so that I can maintain the edge, and keep them nice and sharp.

I love the quality and the feel of the chef’s knife and the santoku. The paring knife is nice, but I feel like a smaller handle would be preferable for the way I typically use that style of knife. Not a huge fan of the serrated utility knife. I’m just not really sure when I’d us that one. The steak knives are of a lower quality compared to the larger knives (lighter and not as well balanced with a cheaper feeling handle,) but they still have decent blades. I like that they aren’t serrated like most steak knives. Overall I’m happy with the set.

Great value of next level cutlery
Just got these as a gift to replace a set of as seen on TV knives used for years. First job for the chefs knife out of the box was thin slicing smoked brisket. We had the opportunity to use the old chefs knife vs the new Henkels knife and the level of control was the most noticeable difference. Could slice as thin as we’d like result in perfect pieces without any sawing marks. Highly recommended if looking for a very good entry level set that offers incredible value. Will be ordering more zwilling henkels product to fill out the set!

Work anniversary gift
I got this as a 10-year work anniversary gift. I wasn’t sure what to select, but upon receiving, I am using it to replace my existing Oneida set. I like the balance and feel. It has all the basic knives I need for everyday use. I am currently trying to buy matching knives to fill out the 3 empty slots in the block.
Would be nice if the knife specs listed the flat width of the blades so I could match them up to the empty holes as opposed to trial and error.

Perfect combination of 8" Chef & 7" Santoku in it!
These block set of knife is beautifully made and exceptional design. Chef knife and Santoku knife combined in 1 block are a no brainer. It's certainly a versatile and economical kitchen knife set nowadays, These amount of knife in your block are is reasonably a standard amount to have for every cook and a steak set is a plus. Forged knife are durable and could stand rusting and corrosion. It is so sharp to go through any meat, vegetable, herb, or fruits.

Outstanding knife set
I have wanted a set of HENCKELS knives for a very long time so this year I took the plunge and bought the FORGED SYNERGY set. While the initial 13 PIECE BLOCK SET, which includes steak knives, after using the knives for a short while, I decided to complete the block and order three additional knives. My only complaint and DISAPPOINTMENT is how easily my favorite knife got scratched up while cleaning. It’s the only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating.

All your ever need . . . mostly!
Been using these for 9.5 years and I couldn't be happier. The set is complete for most of my needs. I separately purchased the Bread Knife. I have found the knives to stay sharp and useful all these years with out sharpening them. I use all of them in my household. Your favorite will probably be the Utility knife. It is the right length and weight for a baguette or a tomato. The Santoku is quite versatile as well. How nice that is comes with a Honing steel; I have only used it once in all these years. The Chefs' knife rocks well with the proper weight in the handle. The Paring knife is sharp and blunt perfectly. You won't regret purchasing this set. Ohhh! forgot my favorite favorite!! :o) The scissors, not only can they cut your Asparagus smoothly without squishing them (like others I have) it can whip open a 2L bottle quickly and then finely cut your chives.

will these knifes stay sharped for life,,, please lmk
If I may say as an end-user of these knives for the last 9.5 years; they stay sharp quite well. I have used the honing steel only once on my Chefs' knife. My particular set came with fine edge steak knives not the serrated CS mentioned above sadly; so I really should take them to the steel but I can't use them (I enjoy cutting my steaks with a serrated knife) and the one who does doesn't complain. This whole set has been good to us and is my favorite all time (I'm in my forties ( ' _ ' ) ) purchase next to my cookware set. Hope this helps you!

Can any of the knives in the block be purchased separately and can you purchase other types or lengths to fill the block?
I personally have the block set; but when I went looking in Bed, bath &I beyond I was able to purchase the bread knife for this set. I have also seen that a 4PC set of steak knives is also available for this same knife set. HTHs
