About Our Forged Premio Series

Henckels Forged Premio 6-inch Utility Knife is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, finely-crafted, superior value When you're gone, this is a knife your kids will fight over. It's excellent. It's one piece of forged steel. Full tang. Thick, solid handle. And a blade that stays sharp. For tonight's meal, the knife minced 3T garlic and 5T ginger, cut carrots for roasting 1/2" thick, sliced pork cutlets and swept the chopped ingredients into whatever pan was needed. The weight feels good in my hand, the handle gives very good control. The blade will never, ever bend on you. Yes, it's made in China. Be grateful that you can buy a $110 knife for twenty-five bucks. It is the most well-made and most useful knife I own. Thank you, Henckels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Knife in My Drawer! I love this knife!!! Yeah it's made in China BUT to Henckels strict specs and with German steel!! This knife is sharp all the time, and when you feel it starting to dull out all it needs is a few swipes on your kitchen steel and comes right back like a razor!! I have dozens of knives as I have butchered my own deer and made tons of sausages over a 40 year span and I favored Dexter-Russell and old Chicago boning knives, as well as a handful of Victorinox, Mundial, and Mercers but I liked this knife so much that I bought one for a buddy of mine and also a 6" boning knife for myself!!! This all purpose 6 incher stays in my kitchen drawer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Popular slicing knife This is a shape and size many folks have grown accustomed to using. If you are one of those folks this is a good knife for your consideration. Forged Premio is a handsome line of knives. They are forged from German steel and made to very exacting standards. The fine edge blades made from high quality stainless steel can take and hold an edge ensuring years and years of enjoyable use. Hone them regularly. The full tang blade runs through the integrated bolster and triple riveted handle for maximum stability and durability. Dishwasher safe, but I always hand wash my knives. I like them to look new and dishwashing detergents are very hard on knives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around knife I purchased this knife because I don't cook much and I needed a knife that could be used for a lot of things. I like how this knife isn't super long because some of the other knives were a bit scary with how big they were. I find that this knife is super sharp and can get through what I need it to since I don't use it a ton. I also think this is a great knife for your money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy Utility Exactly as the name describes it is a utility knife. Made to handle those everyday tasks that your chef knife may be too big for and your parer may be too small for. It's forged from German steel which gives it great weight and balance and helps it to stay sharp longer. The handle is a little "meaty" so it provides extra comfort for most hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Primio Henkle knife set When I purchased the set at Bed Bath and Beyond, several years ago, it was a partial set.. Recently I had ordered the rest of the knives that were missing from my set because I like them soo much, the knives are strong, durable and comfortable to use (comfortable handles), and all my knives still look like new because I always wash them by hand.

These utility can be as versatile as your chef knife, it cuts through vegetable, meats, fruits and just almost everything. It is dishwasher safe and a forged blade that can stands rusting and corrosion that is also durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zwilling does a great job of competing in the value cutlery market. The Henckels International knife lines are always a cut above the competition. This knife is a good size for those times when you need more than a parer but don't want to pull out the 8" chef. This is also a good size and shape for younger chefs.

I want to sharpen a 6 inch forged premio. What angle should I use? I have 17, 20, 25 and 30 degrees. Thank you.

Asked by: Critter
We sharpen our knives to 15 degrees. 17 will be close, but is may also ruin the factory angle. Any of our pull-through sharpeners are designed to work with our knives.
