We have had these knives for less than a year and they have all started to rust. The rust only appears on the blade. Why are stainless steel blades rusting and how can we fix this issue? We have had Ginsu knives for over 5 years and never had a rusting.

Asked by: Samali
These knives are made of German steel, which is a trade name for carbon steel. They can rust under certain conditions. To prevent rusting and other staining, we recommend hand washing the knives and promptly and thoroughly drying them before storage. If you have to use the dishwasher, be sure to remove the knives immediately after the wash, and dry them before placing them in the block. For more cleaning and maintenance tips, please consult the use and care guide included with your purchase. To remove existing rust, you can scrub the blades with a steel cookware cleaner, like Bar Keepers Friend, or try the rust eraser available in our carbon steel care kit here: https://www.zwilling.com/us/zwilling-sharpener-carbon-steel-use-care-kit-35000-001/35000-001-0.html If you feel the rusting is the result of a potential manufacturing defect, you may consider filing a warranty claim: https://www.zwilling.com/us/warranty.html

Can these knives be sharpened?

Asked by: Nicky
We do not recommend sharpening and do not professionally sharpen microserrated knives as sharpening devices will destroy the teeth on the blades that enable them to work properly.

I bought Henkels International EverEdge Plus ll 12 piece with knife block UPC 4 009839400797

Asked by: Alith
What's your question? I just purchased 2 of the same sets at Canadian Tire, and they can't be located on the Canadian Henkel's website. I checked both boxes and they are minus one knife. We only get 11. So much for trying to get a decent Christmas present.
