Henckels CLASSIC Christopher Kimball Edition 6.5-inch Nakiri Knife is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 422.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice knife with a few caveats... Very sharp and has nice overall weight and balance. Metal crown that separates the black handle from the knife body (business end) has some sharp points top and bottom, making it not so comfortable to hold there. You need to keep your fingers on the handle. I may grind these down smooth with a Dremel, but I shouldn't have to. Maybe I'm just used to cutting things with my 7" chef knife? The metal also develops a slight yellow/brown tarnish after using/cleaning/drying. I have found that if you dry it well after washing, it is less likely to do this. Nice knife but not at the same level as my 10 year old Henckel German stamped professional knife set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful utilitarian knife needs a little refining I bought this through Milkstreet after watching the advertisement. I trust Christopher wouldn't lead us wrong in useful products. This knife came out of the box with a sizeable burr that needed removing, but after that it cut extremely well. I may be holding the knife wrong but I am most confidant with holding it like a chefs knife. The back of the blade has very sharp edges though, which makes this uncomfortable. I am impressed with the sharpness in able to get and the ability to hold the edge. I'm still getting used to using this type of blade but I like it more each time I use it. I look forward to getting years of use out of my Nikiri

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great knife at a great price Knife is very sharp and light. I have other henckels international and Zwilling Pro knifes. I think the quality is not as high as the others but the price still makes it a great value. This is the first Nakiri I have and i'm really like it. I will aim to but the zwilling pro version of it. So far I'm very please with it. It sats it is forged, but when I first saw it I had the impression it was stamped. The top of the blade could be a little bit polished, because unfortunately it feels sharp to the touch. Not an expensive knife but perform better than expected. If you are looking value and a introduction to Japanese stile knives I happily recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Sharp! This knife is super sharp and with a thin cutting edge. It makes slicing harder foods like cabbage very easy. I could “shred” cabbage for coleslaw very thinly and easily. It also slides easily through cold (cooked) meat. I sliced a cold roast beef more thinly than I could with any other knife I have, it was almost deli slicer thin. I have other Zwilling Henkels knives, but this one feels a bit heavier and less comfortable in the handle. The back edge of the blade is thicker, but has edges that are a little sharper than what I would have expected. It does a great job of slicing, and that is why I got it, so overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the cost. Poorly produced. Poor edge quality, poor steel quality. The edge has a very poorly sharpened edge, the entire point of the design of a nakiri is to chop in a rocking motion off the rounded tip, however this blade isn't sharp enough to penetrate vegetable skin without a slicing motion. It squishes before anything else. Also somehow the steel stains extremely quickly. Hand washed after one use and already has signs of water staining. To it's benefit, it has a good balance but not good enough to overlook the issues. This to me feels more like stamped steel than anything forged.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! Awesome knife! I just used my Nakiri knife and I love it. I have never been able to slice and dice apples very well. This knife did it all, without much help from me. It sliced evenly with minimal pressure. Then I diced the slices to get it ready for an Apple Heath Bar salad. I cannot believe how simple and easy it is to chop fruits and veggies. Wish I would have had it about 3 hours earlier this morning as I had to chop up 6 bundles of celery, 4 onions and 6 green and red peppers for a chili cook-off Saturday. I still have my Jalapenos to chop so will test it out on that tomorrow. Anyway, this knife is the best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good Nakiri at a good price Ive wanted a Nakiri for a while but they usually come with a hefty price tag. This collection provides an affordable option. This collaboration between Chrisopher Kimball and Henckels, two culinary powerhouses have made a great knife. An awesome forged German steel blade in the Japanese style with the familiar comfort of a Western three riveted handle. The blade is super sharp and at a nice acute angle for great thin slices and cuts. Just what I wanted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good knife. Very good value. This Japanese prep knife is great for all your chopping needs. Ideal for fruits and vegetables, as well as meat, poultry and seafood. This sturdy knife will cut through whatever you're cooking tonight. Butternut or kabocha squash, tough skins? No problem. Thin slices of tomato and onion? No problem. Once you get used to this blade, its hard to go back. This line of knives is made by forging high quality German steel. They will hold their edge over time giving you years and years of enjoyment - and delicious meals. Recommend hand washing, although they are dishwasher safe.
