Great knives for the price point
I purchased the Elan series set at Costco and was very pleased with the quality of the knives, however, the knife block was partially separated upon arrival. I’m not sure if this was damaged during shipping or manufacturing, but nonetheless it was an easy exchange. Fast forward a couple of months, I finally got around to using all of the knives. One of the small knives had a chip at the very tip of the blade that was very rigid and noticeable. I had not used this particular knife before, so I am a little weary of the quality now but time will tell. Overall, the quality is great for the price point.

Beautiful and functional
We recently upgraded our very old low end knife set to this set. We got it for a pretty good deal at Costco on Black Friday. I like this set because it doesn’t include steak knives. We don’t need new steak knives as we already have a set we love. I wish they had an option for a set without a block as we don’t use that either. I suppose if I researched long enough I probably could have found a set with the knives we need without the block but whatever. This set is beautiful and the knives are solid but light enough that they’ll be easy to handle. Super happy with this set so far and I think we’ll get many years of use!

Sharp!
Very sharp knives, nice heft and weight to them. Block is sophisticated looking as well. Looks great and the knives work well. I love that there is a Santoku (although it is a bit small for my preference) and a chef knife, and the bread knife is the best I’ve used.Would be useful to have the slots for the knives labeled, as it is hard to determine which fits in which slot. Also, the second paring knife is an odd size and doesn’t really seem very useful. The scissors are likewise heavy and a little awkward. I would have preferred a few steak knives in place of the scissors and the second paring knife.

The best set for a good enough cook
I had an old set the same style, so old, that I still loved very much. It was time to replace my beloved knife set. I bought an expensive set of another brand but didn’t like, so I waited until I found this set on Costco, with the same style that I am used to. They are great knives, nice weight, I like the bottom style. I hope this set last a very long time too. Note, I am a stay at home mom, I do cook a lot but am not a professional chef, however, this knives meets and exceeds my expectations and they more than good enough for what I need and my liking.

Great medium budget knife Set
I am a college student and was looking for a good starting knife set. I wanted one that was good quality since i do do a good bit of cooking but couldn't spend the $300-400 some sets cost. I found this set as a good option and have been very impressed with the quality and sharpness of the knives. Very good quality for their price range especially. I can't say anything about Ling term quality since I have only had them for a few weeks but I have gotten several unprompted comments from people using them about how much they like them.

Beautifully designed knife block set with all the cutlery you will need for every day use. The blades are sharp and durable. I thought the price was quite reasonable for the quality of this well made set.

Best knife set i ever got
After years of buying cheap brands of knives I decided to ask for a set of henckels for my birthday and boy am I glad I did. They have not disappointed and like them much better then my old set. The fact that they come with not only scissors they also come a sharpening steel so I can keep them nice and sharp for years to come. Makes cutting various things especially onions a breeze. Thank You, Grazie Millis Hinckley for such a fine set of knives that will be used for years to come.

Elan 10-piece knife set
The knife blades are very sharp, looks great in the wood block on my counter. Love the sharpening steel rod in the set, but, it does touch the knife handle in the block because the hole is very large. The knife set is made in China, not in Germany, that was disappointing! The black handles have scuffs on them and the tip of the handles are scratched on the logo. I may exchange the set for the same because of the scuffs and scratches on the handle and the the block hole for the sharpener is too large, flops around. I like the set it's quite basic, the wood block does take up my counter space. I may exchange the set for one that also includes steak knives, the footprint on the counter is similar but, it includes steak knives. I purchased on sale. Wood block 11" length x 4 3/4" wide x 13 1/4 height, the height includes the knives.
