You like to have good tools at your disposal. This set s for you. It has the best of the basics in a self sharpening block. These knives will be ready when you are.
And the good news: if these knives appeal to you and the price suits you, then you just nailed it. The Definition line of Henckels International is a well-constructed collection of knives. Each knife is made from high quality stainless steel. One piece of this steel runs from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle for sturdiness and stability. The handle is arched to fit tightly into your palm, and is sculpted so your fingers in optimal position.
These are excellent knives for daily use. I hand wash all my knives so they look brand new, but they are dishwasher safe.

This is a great knife for starting out on your own. They have the look of the traditional German knife with the comfortable and durable three rivet handle. They have a lighter constructed, fine edge blade which gives you a clean cut every time. The self sharpening block is going to help keep your knives sharp with little or no maintenance. Every time you pull one out or replace it, it sharpens the knife. The slots are labeled so you can quickly select the correct knife and return it to its home when you're finished. It coudn't be simpler.

Never need to sharpen
The self sharpening block is the best thing since sliced bread. Every time you pull a knife from this block you're keeping the blade at its sharpest for the best cutting performance every single time you use it. This block has five useful knife profiles and a pair of shears. Stamped from German steel they are light weight yet sturdy due to the full tang of steel that runs through the full handle.

So far, so good.
I like the knives. They are very sharp and feel nice in my hand, to cut food with. The block matches my kitchen and I appreciate the option for this set without steak knives and clutter that I don't need on my counter.
The labels are great. The only criticism I have is the font of the labels. The font isn't bad at all, I just think they could have picked a more appealing one, but that is my own opinion and you obviously can't choose each person's taste exactly.
I honestly do love these knives. I use the paring knife the most and it peels potatoes as easily as it slices through a kiwi. I can peel a tomato if I wanted. The self sharpener for each knife is simple and so the sound of pulling the knives from the block is quite satisfying.
In conclusion, this is the best block of knives I've owned. Thanks Henckels! Or Zwilling!? Same company or....?

Amazing upgrade from old knife set
This 7 piece knife set is perfect. I received this as a Christmas present and it’s the best gift ever! The set comes with shears, chef’s knife, santoku, parer, utility, and a serrated utility knife.
The wood block is dark mahogany wood is beautiful and compliments the rest of my kitchen.
From my recent usage, the knives are super sharp and it’s brilliant to have the sharpener in the block itself so your knives stay sharp all the time.

Beautiful, efficient, quality
This product was a gift from my sister. She stayed with us for a month and noticed how dull and dangerous our knife set was. The most useful part of this gift is that it sharpens knifes just by storing them in the (beautiful) knife block. This looks so nice on our counter and matches perfectly with our kitchen. The knives are full tang and are of great quality. This is something we will use for YEARS! We are so happy with this product!

Zwilling does a great job of competing in the value cutlery market. The Henckels International knife lines are always a cut above the competition.
This block set is no exception. Handsome knives in a modern looking block that feel good in the hand, are very sharp and has every knife you could ever need.
The self sharpening is an added bonus to this block providing you with a sharp knife every time it's pulled out of the block!
