Simple to use
Everyone needs a sharp knife in the kitchen, and I never had knives that stayed sharp. Always dulled after several months. This set is just what I needed. Great assortment of knives that will definitely see me through all the jobs in the kitchen. Steak knives are also included, which I love so that everything is in one place. The best part is that I can easily sharped the knives each time they get dull. All you need to do is run the knife through the slot several times. If you don't want to sharpen you simply just pull the knife out. Very convenient and easy to use.

Great set of cutlery, everything you need and mor
Really happy this comes with 8 steak knives! we use thoise all the time. The self sharpening is what really grabbed my attention, its so easy and you don't have to worry if the knives are ready to go or not. this is one of the few sets out there that still includes carving knives, both an 8" and a 6". The carvers were the knife that my dad first taught me to cut with so for lots of things they are my go tos. The scissors are awesome, and cut better than any of my other scissors , also having 2 paring knives is helpful, both e 3" and 4" get lots ofuse too.

Good knives with a great block
Knives look sharp, pun intended. They flow great with other items in our kitchen. The knife block is awesome and has the metal plate to protect the block from stabs when you go to return the knife and miss. Has built in sharpening but honestly not sure how I feel about that. Shouldn't the knives just stay sharp? I imagine I will never know how long it truly can stay sharp as it sharpens/hones everything when you return it to the block. However the steak knives do not sharpen so time will tell. Over all the knife set is complete and looks fantastic.

This set has everything. And for the price it cannot be beat.
And the good news is, if this line appeals to you and the price suits you, then you just nailed it! The Definition line of Henckels International is a well-constructed collection of knives. Each knife is made from high quality stainless steel. One piece of this steel runs from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle for sturdiness and stability. The handle is arched to fit tightly into your palm, and is sculpted so your fingers in optimal position.
These are excellent knives for everyday use. Good for cutting and chopping vegetables, cutting meat and poultry into cubes. The set comes with the self-sharpening block with pretty much takes care of the maintenance. I hand wash all my knives so they look brand new, but they are dishwasher safe.

a complete set
I hate when you buy a set of knives and you have to purchase more seperatly. This is a complete set. I love all the knives but especially the prep knife. That is a shape i hadnt used before. Its great when you just need to chop something up but dont feel like pulling out the big one. The german steel is top notch and the self sharpening block keeps them always ready. I also like that it comes with 8 steak knives instead of 4 so there is enough for company.

Amazing
For starters..this piece is beautiful and is a perfect addition to any kitchen.
Secondly, the knives are great. They’re very sharp and make cutting and slicing effortless.
The self sharpening block is an added bonus. I’ve had other knives in the past that just become dull overtime, but that is no longer a worry. Every time you put a knife back in it’s spot it take it out, the block sharpens it. It’s also got clear printed labels for each knives place.

Classy, Stylish and Functional
The knives are very sharp and handle extremely well. I love the self sharpening aspect. The block is very large so make sure you have space for it in your kitchen. It doesn’t come with items I would never use. All the knives are ones that I use so it doesn’t feel like a waste. I just received them so I have not had them for years yet, but for the week I have had them they seem to be made very well. I’m anxious to see how long they will last!

Great every day knife block set
This is a terrific set of knives for every day use. I especially like using the Chefs knife and Santoku. I've been using Henckels knives for years. They are one of the few knives in their price range that hold their edge and don't show rust spots after years of washing in the dishwasher. The only thing that would make this set better is if it included the take-apart scissors. I like those better for washing. That said, this is still a 5-star set!
