Beautiful Set
This is a fantastic little knife set! I already had JA-H steak knives so I wasn’t interested in the sets that included them. I swear by those steak knives so I knew a full set would be a solid decision. Great that it has the self-sharpening feature! Gorgeous block and gorgeous knives. I got the set at Williams Sonoma on a $199 sale, which is a steal for non-Chinese made knives. Didn’t give it a full five stars as only the Chef’s and Santoku are tight in their slots. The rest (especially utility and scissors) are pretty sloppily loose.....but this doesn’t effect their performance!

Great sharpening concept
I wasn't sure how I felt about the look of this block set. the metal top made it seem so industrial, but when I realized the benefit of having the self sharpening, the appearance faded away. I love knowing that every time I go to cut, slice, chop, pare my knife is as ready as I am. I wish there was a way to make the slot for scissors a scissors sharpener but that's a tall order Im sure! The selection of knives in this set are just perfect for my needs and the quality is fantastic! I also like that you can buy replacement pieces but I'm sure I wont need to for a very long time

Maintenance Free Set
Classic knives are as close as you can get to the knives made in Germany, at a more affordable price. They are forged from German steel and are made in Spain. The three rivet handle means they're perfectly weight, balanced and extremely durable. Guaranteed to last a lifetime!
This self sharpening set looks beautiful but is more than a pretty face. Each knife slot is labeled so it helps you select the correct knife and know the correct slot to return it to. Every time you pull a knife out and replace it, your knife is sharpened. Never have a dull knife again!

Great set.....always sharp
The Classic line by Henckels is great. The brand has always meant quality to me. The forged German steel combined with Spanish construction makes a great product. The blades are very sharp. The traditional three rivet handle with the full bolster give me the classic feel I am used to. The self sharpening block is great. My knives are always at their best. The slots are clearly labeled with which knife goes where. Each slot is precision engineered for each individual knife so they are always at their best. No one size fits all here.

Good basic set.
This set has exactly what you need to cook a great meal, everyday if you want. It doesn't have all you'd need for more complicated prep - like boning a chicken, or for bigger meals - like carving a turkey, but it has two great workhorses of the kitchen, an 8-inch chef's and 7-inch santoku. Plus smaller knives for making salads and sandwiches. (There are two other Classic sets with a self sharpening block if you feel you need more specialty knives.)
Whichever size set you go with, you can't go wrong. They are very good knives - and an exceptional value. I really like them; I've had a set for more than 20 years. These are forged knives made of quality steel. They have a triple riveted handle, a comfortable integrated bolster. Even if they aren't made in Germany, the steel is, and their quality is unquestionable.

7Pc Self Sharpening Knife Block Set
I was excited receive my first Henckel knife get . It arrived and he set is better then I Could have ever expected.First of all the get is beautiful. This o& deserves to e presented for everyone to admire sorry I have a thing for knives. That are The perfect weight and cut like buter. Being a skeplic I Thought for sure the Self sharpening wos a gimmick. I'll have to get back to you on that, They are perfectly sharp still. Thank you Henckel

Henckels Classic knives are made in Spain but with all the same materials and design of the German made knives so you are able to get an amazing knife at a better price. These are forged from specially formulated steel to be corrosion resistant and ice hardened to prevent chipping and cracking. I enjoy the razor sharp edge on these blades and an amazing feature is the self sharpening block that will keep your knives factory sharp forever!

What is the sharpening angle for these knives? Are other Henckel knife sets generally of the same sharpening angle.
All of our Western knives, including this style, are sharpened to 15° per side of the blade. Japanese knives (including Santokus) are sharpened to 10-12° per side.
