Good tea kettle
The kettle works as expected. To address some complaints, I wanted to add a review.
I assume most people turn the heat off once the water starts boiling, esp if one has the whistle attached. The handle on the pot itself does not get hot; I think you'd have to boil the kettle a long time for the big handle to get hot. The spherical handles on the kettle cap and the whistle do get hot. It is fairly easy to get the whistle off with a towel if it's gently placed on the kettle spout.
The whistle is plenty loud if it is gently placed on the kettle spout if using high heat.
The kettle is fast to boil on my induction cooktop on the matching-size burner at full blast.

Hot Handle, Good Pour
The metal handle is connected to the body at both ends. Handle gets very hot and because of the design you cannot just slip something over top.
Maybe it is because of the metal, but it is the noisiest kettle (while the water is warming) I have ever had.
It pours really nicely and retains heat well. Not worth the $100 it is listed at, nor the $79 I paid.

My cute little tea pot!
A modern teapot, so pretty and adorable! This is a whistling tea kettle, the whistling cap is removable if you prefer not to hear the whistling. The lid is impressively fitted and stays in-tack when boiling. This kettle is manufactured from premium 18/10 (18% chromium and 10% nickel) stainless steel, producing the greatest resistance to rust. This kettle can be clean with stainless steel cream cleaner with your dish soap, never use bleach.

Demeyere Resto is one of my favorite lines and I think this tea kettle is very whimsical! I like the whistle that calls me to the stove when the water is boiling. Often I am deep in something else and am very thankful for that little reminder when something is ready. The stainless steel is beautiful and will stay that way with a little love and care. One of my favorite demeyere purchases for sure.

almost perfect
this kettle is beautiful looking, stainless steel all through out so easy to clean. this is a very big plus since I am planning to put leave this kettle on the stove when not in use. The water gets hot quicker than my previous ikea kettle. one of the cons is the handle and the cover gets really hot. since the cover detaches, you won't be able to touch it without using a mitten.

Beautiful, shiny stainless steel construction make this the one pot to stay on my stove. It heats efficiently on any surface, including induction. Love the whistle bringing me back to the kitchen when the water is boiling. The handle is welded which helps keep it cool, no rivets to transfer heat.

Resto is a great line of cookware from Demeyere. Most of these pans are made for unique cooking needs. This tea kettle has a nice whistle, heats quickly and will hold the water at a hot temperature for a long period of time on simmer. Pretty to look at and easy to clean.

I noticed that the "Bottom technology: Encapsulated base". Does that mean there is a coating in the interior of the stainless steel kettle? Is the water only touching stainless steel?

How do you clean & Polish this kettle and keep its mirror finish?
Soap and water should do the trick most of the time, but for very tough stains, try our Demeyere Stainless Steel cleaner or Bar Keepers Friend.
