The 7 layers of silver, copper and stainless steel in the Atlantis collection are unparalleled; it heats up so quickly, and retains that heat well. Also there are no rivets, making for a much easier cleaning. With this saute style pan, it is perfect for making sauces, for one dish meals, browning and sauteing meats and veggies. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Atlantis is one of my favorite Demeyere lines. I like that it has cooper in the 7-ply which heats up quickly and maintains the heat extremely well. I use this saute pan multiple times a week and love the stay cool handle! A little more pricey, but worth every penny, and you will have this for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best Hands down the best cookware you will find. The 7 plys create such a quick and even heat. The browning is so much better that other inexpensive pans out there. No matter how messy I am it cleans up easily. No rivets to clean around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny. No question. This is one of the most versatile pans I own. As a saute pan it has a lid, high straight sides. I use it to make pasta sauces, fry, deep(ish) frying (think skillet fried chicken.) In a pinch, I've boiled noodles. Eggs, bacon, pancakes. No prob. Demeyere Atlantis made me rethink my cookware plan. I have spent my grown-up years upgrading to better cookware, which for me is (was) copper clad pans. But there are some challenges with copper, mostly maintenance. Enter Demeyere Atlantis. I love this stuff! It has all the best parts of copper cookware and it’s easy to clean! In addition to being technically sound (it cooks well; heats evenly and is responsive to temperature changes), it has bonuses that help to justify the price. No rivets - no cleaning around those annoying little screw heads. Comfortable stay-cool handles – easy to grip and lift. The helper loop is a huge benefit. Looks good – shiny exterior stays that way. Just a note – it is heavy, like copper, but some things can’t be helped. There's copper in there, and copper is heavy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it. Period. Saute pans are a must in a well stocked kitchen. This size is perfect for a family of 4 or more. I use it when I have company. Its shape and lid make it super versatile. I use it to make breakfast (eggs, bacon and pancakes), lunch (chili, panini and quesadilla), and dinner (everything - .e., fried fish, chicken braises, vegetable curries.) It is an ideal. It cooks evenly and can take high heat, and gentle simmers. Demeyere made me rethink my cookware plan. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kitchen Workhorse This is what I use when the fry pan is too small to saute. Nice heavy bottom, it sautes vegetable well and does not need high heat to drive the cooking. Easy clean up.

Demeyere Atlantis 5.1-qt Stainless Steel Saute Pan with Helper Handle. There seems to be some confusion regarding the dimensions of this pan, can you please confirm.

Asked by: JustMy2Cents
The correct dimensions for this item are 11" top diameter X 11" bottom diameter X 2.9" tall. Please note that previous answers citing smaller dimensions were carried over from the Demeyere Atlantis 3-qt Stainless Steel Saute Pan with Helper Handle. There was also some confusion about the capacity of this pan. At one point, the packaging read 4.2-qt. However, as we found that we can measure liquids to the very top edge of the vessel, we then updated our listings and packaging to reflect the actual size, which is 5.1-qt. As we were not able to recall all of those items already on the market, it is not unusual to still see and receive packaging that shows 4.2 quarts.

What are the dimensions? I see people selling this pan as 4.1-qt, 4.2-qt, and now 5.1-qt. The 4.1 and 4.2 I've found all say same dimensions - 11" across, 3" high. Is this the same dimensions? What's the real quart size of this pan?

Asked by: BenF
Zwilling's answer (5.1 qt) appears to be wrong. The Demeyere label seen on this product, Item # 41428A, shows 4L / 4.2 qt. 4 liters equals 4.2 qts. How could Demeyere possibly be wrong about its own product? Unless its label is wrong or it manufactures its 11 inch diameter straight sided saute pan in TWO different heights, Zwilling's answer is wrong. Also, note that Williams Sonoma also shows 4.2 qt. for the Demeyere 11 inch straight sided saute pan.
