Description

ZWILLING Pro is the most user-friendly knife available to market. The unique blade shape and ergonomic bolster are the result of over 285 years of experience in knife making, and the rigorous study of how knives are used. A unique curved bolster supports the professional pinch grip, with thumb and index finger on the blade, for safe cutting and less fatigue. The full length of the blade can be used when cutting and can be sharpened from bolster to tip. Designed in Italy by Matteo Thun and made in Germany by ZWILLING J.A. Henckels, the company that sets the standard for exceptional cutlery worldwide. The ZWILLING Pro Santoku Knife is a Japanese style chef's knife that is perfect for most kitchen tasks. The blade shape lends itself particularly well to chopping and slicing. The Granton edge helps prevent food from sticking to the blade. This product may have minor visual imperfections, though this will not affect the product's performance. Additionally, this product comes with a full warranty.

  • Curved bolster encourages cutting with improved precision, safety and comfort
  • POM handle is durable and resilient
  • SIGMAFORGE knife is forged from a single piece of Special Formula High-Carbon NO STAIN stainless steel
  • Ice-hardened FRIODUR blade starts sharper, stays sharper longer, and has superior resilience
  • Precision-honed blade and laser-controlled edge ensures ideal cutting angle for sharpness and durability
  • Full tang and handle are triple-riveted for superb stability
  • Dishwasher safe, hand wash recommended
  • Manufactured in Germany

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware Bought the one with visual imperfections because the regular one was out of stock and was eager to get one. I went in knowing it wouldn't be perfect. I expected perhaps some scratches and even a few small chips in the edge. Buyer beware. Visual imperfections are actually physical imperfections which, in my case, make the knife unusable. 1. The edge was poorly set from factory. Meaning, the edge wouldn't make full contact with the cutting board. The result: cutting green onions, peppers and other veggies with thick skin was not possible. So I spent 2 hours reworking the edge on my whetstones. The edge is now usable but the uneven bevel will take many months of wear and sharpening before I can get a straight line on it. 2. The blade itself is not straight and curves slightly to the left. Not sure who to fix that one. I'll attempt to bend it into shape but would hate to snap the steel. 3. The spine was poorly finished leaving a jagged edge where the blade meets the handle. This flaw is ACCEPTABLE because it doesn't impact its usability, but it's worth mentioning. 4. Lastly, these liquidation pieces should mention that they are NON-REFUNDABLE. Prior to trying to fix this mess, I attempted to return the item at my cost of shipping only to find out that the sale is final. You're essentially buying flawed items blindfolded with no possibility of exchange. I paid $130 for a knife that should not have left the factory. Whether on liquidation or not. Whether from Germany or China. Watching a behind-the-scenes video of Zwilling, Dr. Joachim Droese (Chief Technical Officer) quotes: “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten” That quote will forever burn in my mind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Recommended I have ordered and received a Zwilling Pro 5.5" Santoku (VI) with heavy scratches on the handle and more importantly, several chips and dents on the blade. Upon contacting support, they say that the chips and dents are not considered as defects and knifes with visual imperfection is supposed to be like this. Very disappointed in the quality of these VI knifes and the customer support received.
