STAUB and Käfer

Far beyond Munich's borders, stylish pleasure is widely associated with the name of Käfer. Over the course of its 80 year-plus history, this family-owned company, currently led by Michael Käfer, has experienced constant growth and, in addition to its tradition-rich head office in Munich and party service, now counts restaurants in Schloss Hohenkammer near Freising, Berlin and Shanghai, a number of delicatessens and its own online shop among its assets.

Its hospitality at Munich's Oktoberfest, for example, sets new benchmarks every year. Occasions such as a Formula 1 race in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where Käfer handles all the catering, or a DTM (German Touring Car Championship) race in the Audi VIP area, with food, drinks and service provided by Käfer, are all turned into quite special events. Starting from autumn 2012, Käfer will also be represented in a culinary capacity at BMW Welt ('BMW World').

With STAUB products, from now on Käfer will also be adding a very special touch to events such as these in a way that perfectly combines style and pleasure. Under the terms of the cooperation agreement, which became effective on 1 October 2011, STAUB's cast-iron products will be used in the catering activities of Käfer. STAUB products will also be a part of Käfer's catering activities at the Oktoberfest, in the recently opened Schrannenhalle multi-purpose venue in Munich and in in the Käfer restaurant in Shanghai. The focus is bound to be on the company's cocottes and mini variants of them, but the company's other cast-iron products are of much more than purely decorative interest to Käfer in its fine dining and catering activities. Furthermore, Käfer will be offering STAUB products for sale in its stores and in its own online shop.

The link-up will also benefit STAUB's trading partners, through the production of joint brochures and POS material for product presentation at retail level. Käfer's strong brand image is certain to have a positive effect on customers at the point of sale, offering a range of opportunities for sales activities, such as recipes specially developed by Käfer for STAUB that involve the use of its products.

STAUB was founded in 1974 in Alsace. The company's high-quality, cast-iron cookware is now to be found in many of the world's leading kitchens.

STAUB currently markets its goods in over 50 countries. All made from cast iron, they are produced exclusively in France.

In April 2008, STAUB was acquired by ZWILLING J.A. Henckels AG. Within the ZWILLING group, STAUB is maintained as an independent brand.

Alongside traditional cast-iron pots and pans, its range now takes in woks, fondues, grill pans and an extensive selection of serving dishes, all made from cast iron. All of STAUB's products are characterised by a combination of tradition and innovation. Their excellent heat conductivity and the ability of cast iron to retain heat, plus a special climate system that helps to retain the juices in the food, are important features of all STAUB products, having a positive effect on the cooking and roasting process and, above all, on the taste.

In addition to working together with leading chefs - mainly in France, and chief among them Paul Bocuse - the cooperation agreement between STAUB and Käfer serves once more to confirm the high quality standards and 'pleasure factor' that are guaranteed with all STAUB products.
