Manicure instruments for cutting
Nail scissors
Nail scissors are small solid scissors with short, predominantly curved blades. They are used to shorten and shape finger and toenails. Nail scissors with a so-called tower point serve as combination scissors, i.e. they can be used for nails as well as for fine corners and cuticles.
Cuticle scissors
Cuticle scissors are small precision instruments used to carefully remove cuticle pieces. The tips are slim and evenly ground so they reach right into the corners of the nails. Once the skin has been pushed back with a nail pusher it can be evenly cut.
Nail nippers
Nail nippers come in various sizes and designs. Nippers are stronger than scissors and are therefore easier and more comfortable for shortening toenails.
To use the nipper push the handles against the spring and cut the nail. Various types of springs are being used: Wire springs with rollers, leaf springs, double leaf springs and cushioning springs.
Nippers are shaped to fit the ergonomics of the hand. Men usually prefer large nippers while the smaller nipper is preferred by the lady.
Nail clippers
Very strong nails are easily and cleanly shortened with a nail clipper. A nail clipper is so compact and light that it can be carried in a handbag, trouser pocket or on a key ring.
