The range of shears available matches the demands placed on the cutting of hair.
There are barber shears with smooth cutting edges, serrated edges or thinning scissors with one or even two serrated blades. The micro-serration of barber shears grasps the hair and holds it firmly making it easier to cut without the scissors slipping. The principle for thinning scissors: The finer the serration, i.e. the more teeth there are on the blade, the more the hair is thinned.
Barber shears are distinguished in terms of size, weight and steel quality. The following shear types are on offer:
- Stamped barber shears for use at home. The plastic handles are moulded on, the blades and edges are precision ground.
- Stamped lightweight shears of stainless high-grade
steel have handles made of high-quality plastic compounds. For use at home as well as professionally. The screws are inset in a plastic socket and can be tightened. The blades and cutting edges are precision ground and micro-serrated.
- Forged professional shears are made of stainless, highgrade steel with micro-serration or honed (polished) blades.
