Nail scissors

Nail scissors are small strong scissors with short and mainly curved blades. They are used to shorten and shape finger nails and toe nails.

Nail scissors with an additionally ground tip are called combination scissors. They are used for finger nails and corners as well as for small pieces of cuticle.

A smooth and regular cutting action, a gripping cut (particularly high quality scissors have an extremely fine microscopic serration on the blade) and comfortable scissors handles are feature of
good scissors.

High quality manicure scissors are always secured with a screw; this allows the blades to be adjusted.
If necessary, scissors can be taken apart in order to regrind and adjust them.

Finger nails which have grown too long are shortened and formed with a pair of nail scissors. The curved blade is best for this purpose.

Nails cut with scissors should be smoothed and shaped with a nail file.
